4-Year-Old Girl Miraculously Escapes Brush With Death After Barbershop Shooting
Monday morning in Chandler, Arizona, a 4-year-old girl nearly escaped the path of two stray bullets that shattered the glass window of a barbershop where the young girl sat. Chandler police released the startling footage taken from the shop, where the child can be seen prancing around her grandpa’s store, taking a seat near the front window, and moments later, witnessing the glass behind her explode.
Police officials stated the young girl is in stable condition, and was taken to Chandler Regional Hospital with minor injuries from the glass debris, and added that no other persons were harmed.
The nearly fatal shooting stemmed from a dispute between an alleged drunk male and an employee at the Damaged Ink Tattoo parlor next door to the barbershop at around 11 a.m. The argument began after the intoxicated suspect was told to return after he had sobered up. Sergeant Daniel Mejia stated:
“When officers arrived, they learned that the barbershop behind me was struck multiple times by gunshots. This was subsequent to an apparent argument between at least one male suspect and the employees at the tattoo parlor.”
A witness near the scene told reporters:
“I heard five gunshots go off in a row and then heard a woman screaming and a baby crying, as well. I was extremely scared.”
Police have since apprehended Michael David Hart, 23, and Rafael Santos, 21, and have charged them with numerous charges, including discharging a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a prohibited persona, and endangerment.
